I am busting out the old tumblr machine to make this important post. As always i agree with diamond. I am not one to type out some big, long winded response but I would like to throw in my 2 cents. She said that gays need to stop acting to be put on a pedestal. Diamond I do admit that you have to be careful with your wording, and I also don’t think you can assume ALL gays feel this way, your concept is still valid. The best way to get past something it to stop talking about it. They are called equal rights not we-are-better-rights. At this point a majority agree (certainly among tumblrs) that gays deserve equal rights. It is basically a given that everyone should be able to marry who every they want, you could marry a shoe I wouldn’t care. But now that we have reached that consensus they are no longer gays and we are no longer straight. We are both just people who need to get married one day. Basically, like everything in life, Morgan Freemen said it best (just replace race with gay/straight):
